IndianWebs has been present at Social Media Week Barcelona, the conference organized by Buzz Marketing Networks that took place in Barcelona from September 25 to 29, 2012, and whose objective was to explore the social, cultural and economic repercussions of social networks under the heading empowering change through collaboration. This event emerged in New York in 2009, and is taking place simultaneously in 13 cities (London, Los Angeles, Seoul, Sao Paulo, Turin, Hong Kong, Berlin, Bogotá, Chicago, Glasgow, Vancouver, Shanghai and Barcelona).
The IndianWebs team has followed with great interest the development of the event, which reached the trending topic in Spain for two consecutive days with #SMWBCN, however, due to scheduling reasons, IndianWebs could only be present on the last day, dedicated to the training in Social Media: Basics of Community Management, Reputation and control panels in Social Media and Measurement and analysis of results in Social Media, which was led by Astrid Altadill, Eduard Corral and Mar Barberà, from the organizing entity.
To highlight the interesting intervention of Eduard Corral, who explained that the content generated on the network by ordinary users represents 70% of the content related to brands.
Given that we are all “media”, social networks have become a first-order objective for any company that wishes to formulate a successful marketing policy. In this sense, Corral offered several very descriptive examples of the influence of social networks on current forms of purchasing; For example, traditionally, a person who wanted to buy a vehicle visited an average of 7 different dealerships; Currently, he visits only one dealership and requests in great detail the model and all the characteristics of the vehicle (both standard ones and those extraordinary ones that may be the subject of a promotional campaign). Sometimes, the buyer has had access through the social network to an offer that the seller himself is unaware of, who for any reason may not have received the information from the brand.
The speaker detailed in great detail the various actions that allow improving and maintaining online reputation: 1. Carry out actions with influencers; 2. Build relationships with events; 3. Participate in like-minded communities; 4. Provide information; 5. Listen to feedback; 6. Control SEO positioning; 7. Control assets and prepare contingency plans; and 8. Listen and collect.
The IndianWebs team appreciates the initiative carried out by the event's organizing company, Buzz Marketing Networks, which has allowed all agencies to take note of the interesting contributions made during these days.
