Last night the 21st edition of the RAIMA Illustration Awards was held at Disseny Hub Barcelona – the reference space for design in the city of Barcelona.

Yesterday was a gala full of allusions to architecture and enlivened by fun imitations of the actor Pep Plaza.

The Illustration Contest RAIMA Its main objective is to project the world of design and promote the work of Plastic Arts professionals in a city that is the flagship of modernity, art and design.
In this call, the motto chosen was "Paper and architecture", which allowed a significant participation of professionals from various fields: architects, designers, illustrators, draftsmen, etc.

The winning work was chosen by a Jury made up of professionals and representatives of the main professional associations and colleges in the Plastic Arts sector (Col•legi de Dissenyadors Gràfics de Catalunya, ADP, APIC, ADG FAD, etc.). Prizes were awarded to those works that best reflected the proposed motto, under professional criteria of originality, artistic and technical quality of the work.

Hand in hand Pep plaza, Núria Raja - manager RAIMA -and the sponsors of the event presented more than twenty prizes during the ceremony:
The first prize: €5.000 + image of the RAIMA 2015 calendar went to Lali Pantone for his work "Vitruví Papirola".
The second prize: €2.500 + image of the RAIMA 2016 calendar went to , for the work .

One of the funniest moments of the night was when the actor Pep plaza (Crackòvia; TV3), who was responsible for entertaining the gala, “transformed” into Eugenio. Later, his imitations of Elvis Presley, Lluis Llach, Julio Iglesias, Bee Gees, Tomeu Penya, Matías Prats, etc. followed.

Once the awards ceremony was over, Nuria Raja took the stage to thank the sponsors for their support of the initiative, keeping RAIMA present in their balance sheets every two years. Circumstance that she greatly appreciated, in these moments that we live. Also worth highlighting is the appearance of the entire RAIMA team on stage, with Nuria Raja at the helm, to thank everyone for their attendance.

The RAIMA illustration and design competition aims to stimulate and promote the creativity and work of plastic artists. In addition to a cash prize, the winners will see their work printed in the calendar that RAIMA has been publishing since 1990.

From IndianWebs We thank Nuria Raja, Isabel Marquès, Nil Muntané Raja and Toni Esplugas, as well as the entire RAIMA team the opportunity to see so much talent gathered in this fantastic prize. –It's a shame that it is celebrated every two years.

Thank you RAIMA!
