The launch of this application for mobile devices is part of the “Barcelona in Gothic” project by Barcelona Media, created within the framework of the Avanza Contents subprogram, of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, in collaboration with the Barcelona History Museum ( MUHBA).
Developed with the advice of the Barcelona History Museum on Barcelona Media's three-dimensional visualization platform, the "Barcelona in Gothic" project combines video game technology to access high-quality visual content.
The virtual tour integrates historical information verified by experts and introduces the time factor in a very visual way to represent the evolution of unique elements of the city from the 11th century to the present day.
Virtual environments make possible the reliable reconstruction of the urban fabric, monumental spaces and the historical transformations of real buildings through visualization systems.
This application, which has a high level of interaction, makes it suitable for the tourist promotion of the city and for use in spaces for cultural, artistic and historical promotion and dissemination, according to Barcelona Media
