In its purpose of being available to the user when, how and where they want, ElPAÍS.com adapts to the changing landscape of the technology sector with the launch of a native application for the iPhone. Starting today, Apple mobile device users have a free application available in the Apple Store through which the usual content of www.elpais.com is offered in text, photo and video formats.
ELPAÍS.com has made a special effort in adapting multimedia content since one of the advantages of the terminal is the possibility of viewing images in very high quality.
Downloading the application is done through the Apple Store, available on iTunes (you can download it directly from here) or in the main menu of the iPhone itself, within the 'News' category. Once the download is complete, a shortcut icon will be installed on the iPhone desktop, so the user can quickly access updated information from ELPAÍS.com.
Both downloading the application and accessing the content are free for the user who can access them through their usual Internet connection, either through Wi Fi or 3G.
The application has a customization menu so that the user can select the sections they want to have activated in the navigation bar and the position in which they prefer to view them.
Native iPhone applications have become one of the great attractions of Apple's mobile device since they allow content on the Internet to be accessed in a much faster and easier way. They already have a giant application like Google or Facebook or media on line international as The New York Times o Le Monde. In Spain, ELPAIS.com is the first digital media to develop it.
