In everyday actions such as reading the newspaper, shopping or knowing the delay time of our bus, we use the internet. There are so many facilities that this service offers us that these new technologies are increasingly present in our daily lives.

According to Adecco Global Report 2014: Job search and digital reputation in the 3.0 era, The use of these technologies is not left behind in the workplace. What's more, 69% of users use the Internet and social networks to find jobs.

Since the labor market is so weakened, it is very important to use all the means at our disposal to look for a job that allows us to make a payroll each month. For many, social networks are not just another way but have become the main way to find work.

The professional social network par excellence is LinkedIn. According to this report, the percentage of respondents who use this social network is 64,1%. It is a platform that is mainly used for the purpose of searching for work. Only 19% of the Spanish population uses it for other purposes. All this makes it considered the most effective for the people who were surveyed.

The second most used social network is Twitter. 19% of users use this social network and Facebook follows with 11,3%. On the other hand, occupying fourth place, we have 6,5% of users who use blogs to carry out job searches. With all these percentages it is shown that except for LinkedIn, the rest of the social networks are used to find employment. Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram or YouTube have a very small percentage of users who use them for that purpose.

The Adecco report shows that the higher the academic training, the higher the percentage of people who use social networks to search for employment. Below we break down these percentages:

68,4% people who do not have basic education.

55% people who have secondary education.

74,6% people who have a university degree.

87,1% people who have master's degrees or doctorates.

Those who use this route the most are those under 33 years of age, who represent 76% of young people, and those over 33 years of age, who represent 74%. One more fact to take into account is the high percentage (85,7%) represented by those who go to look for work for the first time on social networks.

With all this we must realize that no door should be closed when looking for work. The possibilities have increased with the development of new technologies and today having a mobile phone or tablet may be enough.
