The success of participation and the quality of the works presented, the RAIMA Contest is consolidated this year as the most important biannual call in the state for plastic artists.
The awards ceremony took place yesterday, Tuesday, October 9, at the CETT (School of Hospitality and Tourism), Barcelona. The competition has a prize of €7.500 for this tenth edition. The tenth edition of the "RAIMA Illustration and Design Contest" had as its motto "Paper and the kitchen" and registration, free of charge, was open to any plastic artist who participated with an original and unpublished work. This year , the organizers of the RAIMA Contest have received a total of 523 works. The origin of the works has been mainly from Catalonia (75%), but also from the rest of Spain (20%) and part of Europe (10%).
The RAIMA Contest was born in 1994 with the firm desire to stimulate and promote the work of plastic artists, while illustrating the collector's calendar that RAIMA has been publishing for 22 years. The theme that should inspire the works is always paper, accompanied by some "universal" motto, which in previous editions has been cinema, science, music, etc. The technique is free, which significantly enriches participation: designers, illustrators, draftsmen, etc.
With this contest, RAIMA aims to contribute to promoting creativity among society and at the same time offer a promotional opportunity to all the magnificent artists who have participated.
