Another side effect of the iPad: e-commerce boom

In the end Steve Jobs was going to be right when he said that the iPad inaugurated a new category of consumption. And we are not only referring to a new subsector within the hardware industry (the booming tablets), but also to the collateral effects in industries such as e-books, digital press or e-commerce.
This last sector seems to be beginning to benefit from how easy it is to enter a website from the Apple tablet and place an order with just a few touches of the fingers... And its use is still a minority.
Just Eat, a food delivery and takeaway website originally from the United Kingdom and which began its activity in Spain a few months ago, has analyzed the different operating systems from which users access its website to order food.
At the moment, only 0,5% of users in the United Kingdom access the web through the iPad. However, more than one in three (34,9%) of them place an order for food. This percentage is much higher than that of users who access from the iPhone (7.64%) or the iPhone Touch (10.62%).
Just Eat receives around 45.000 daily orders in that country and around 40.000 visits from the iPhone, and the company's executives estimate that in a short time accesses from the iPad will surpass those from the phone.
If the percentage of those who make a purchase is maintained, e-commerce can now build a monument to Steve Jobs.
