Pedro Quintero and the Ascensores Yélamos team like challenges. Yes Yes! That's why they tell me that their best specialty is installing elevators in old buildings, although they carry out all kinds of works. Being a family company, starting a conversation with them becomes for me a very interesting review of the history of these devices dedicated exclusively to vertical transport.
Who can imagine going up to a penthouse without an elevator nowadays? We are so used to them that we often overlook true artisanal and technological wonders in the shape of an elevator: there are some made of oak wood, some made of glass, metallic and futuristic, ultra-fast, intelligent... and even silly elevators that at the slightest Are blocked! I won't tell you the things that have happened to me in the elevators because... you wouldn't believe me!!
Returning to the serious topics, we obviously talk about safety, regulations and legislation that regulate all these issues, and we debate what the real challenges are: I say "sharing an elevator with strangers." Jokes aside, rehabilitating old elevators, adapting them, or placing an elevator at the eye of a staircase can become quite an odyssey, as if the work were in the Burgos cathedral.
If you ever need their services I can assure you that you will not have the typical elevator conversation with them 😉
