SEPTEMBER 2015 website: Mas de Bunyol

Bird lovers already know the place I'm going to talk about next, but you probably don't. If you want to see how vultures live and eat, do not hesitate to come to Mas Bunyol.

Mas de Bunyol is a vulture observatory built on top of a farmhouse inside a vulture feeder. Every day of the year there is a guided tour and from the observatory you can observe, through a glass window and at a short distance, the descent of hundreds of vultures waiting for the vultureman to arrive with the daily delicacy.

For more than 25 years, Loly and José Ramón have managed and maintained this reserve. But for this to be successful, all visitors must follow some golden rules. We must not forget that these vultures are wild birds and like all animals in the wild, they are very vulnerable to the impact of humans.

Some of the rules are:

  • All mobile phones and electronic devices must remain silent.
  • Always be accompanied by our guide and follow his guidelines.
  • Do not use flash.
  • Access the observatory on foot through a 100 m camouflaged path.
  • Wear dark clothing (top).

For those interested, Mas de Bunyol offers accommodation at a good price. If you are interested in visiting or staying, do not hesitate to contact them through their website or by phone. They will serve you with open arms.
