They say that children are born with bread under their arms. In the case of Begoña Parrado this is more than true. After becoming a mother, this Catalan illustrator had an idea. She devised, in collaboration with Artdbcn, an attractive character for children (and their parents) that, in addition to entertaining them, would teach them about Catalan identity and culture. This is how Jan Petit was born in 2011.
Now, he has decided to go solo, and has created CantaPip, the company that will from now on be in charge of carrying the Jan Petit collection. If you go to their website you will find screen-printed t-shirts, musical sets (composed of a t-shirt + Cantapip), mugs, magnets and badges. All made by hand and with care, with special attention to details. It is an ideal product for families with musical interests, who want to give something fun and educational at the same time.
Currently you can order all their products from their website although, if you prefer, you can also purchase their products at some strategic points of sale such as: La botiga de Mon St Benet, La botiga de Montserrat, La botiga de la Vall de Núria, La of the Museum of History of Catalonia, The botiga of Park Güell
Furthermore, his Cantapip was included last month by the Plataforma per la Llengua in its catalog of Catalan toys.
I am sure that with the enthusiasm and effort that Begoña is putting into this project, success will come soon. Jerome's word.
