Since 1996, the Acampada Jove has become the meeting point for the party, for music made in Catalonia, for music in Catalan and for international music with a vindictive tone.
This year, the Acampada Jove reaches its 20th edition, demonstrating that the festival created by the JERC (Joventuts d'Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya) has become one of the most solid projects in Catalan music. After nine years of holding the festival in Arbúcies and four in Sant Celoni, this year the festival is consolidated in Montblanc where the seventh edition will be held consecutively.
Music lovers have an appointment on July 16, 17 and 18. And during these three days the best of today's Catalan music will come together. On Thursday, as an aperitif and starter, you can listen to Brams, La Pegatina, Tropical Riots, Alquadrat, Boikot, Buhos, Hora de Joglar and Smoking Souls. On Friday, the second course arrives loaded with good music. Highlights include performances by Els Catarres, one of the most successful groups on the Catalan music scene, Atupa, La Gossa Sorda, Aspencat, DJ OGT, Auxili, Doctorr Prats and Itaca Band. If you're still hungry for more music, dessert comes on Saturday, with performances by DJ Sendo, Lax N' Busto, La Raíz, the usual ska from the legendary Dr. Calypso, Zoo, Strombers and Xeic.
The Acampada Jove organization likes to say, quite rightly, that La Acampada is much more than a music festival. During these 3 days, in addition to concerts, workshops, talks and many more activities of social and national awareness of the Catalan Countries are held. That's why everyone who goes, ends up coming back.
