Illegalities committed daily on the Internet

Many people believe that the Internet is a parallel world in which the law does not appear. But this belief is erroneous and the ignorance of many means that some behaviors are not controlled. That is to say, illegality in offline life is also illegal in online life.

The problem is that some of these practices are routine and are committed without problem.

Some examples are:

1. Insult and slander. No one would think of disqualifying and verbally attacking a famous person on the street. On the other hand, on the Internet we are more daring and using the screen that protects us and keeps us anonymous as a shield, we utter insults. The probability that you will be punished for it is very small but if said person wants, they can sue you. It wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened.

2. Downloading Software and video games. When they mention this, they are not referring to the first thing we all think about: downloading music. Downloading songs is not a crime since it is considered a cultural asset. But that changes when we talk about software and video games. Private copies do not exist and that is what makes downloading them illegal. Even so, it is done without any type of scruples, shielding ourselves with two aspects: the difficulty of being "hooked" and how normal this practice is since it is socially accepted.

3. Stalking. Word of English origin that we use as a synonym for gossip. Obviously, there is absolutely nothing wrong with innocent gossip. However, constantly monitoring a person online in an unhealthy way can be punishable.

4. Send emails without blind copy. Sending an e-mail with visible recipients contradicts article 10 of the Organic Law on Data Protection. So if one of these recipients is reluctant and upset about appearing publicly in your email, they can fine you. It is something that normally does not generate problems but can generate them without any type of problem since with the Law in hand it is something punishable.

5. Share and retweet criminal posts.  It is an issue involved in great controversy. It is not at all clear since opinions and interpretations are very different. There are people who defend not knowing who retweets but there are others who think that a judge could interpret that the owner of the account that carries out that action must know the illegality of said tweet.
